How to Get New Castle Arrest Reports
NCPD follows strict release rules for arrest and incident reports.

The NCPD FAQ page covers each procedure.
Crime reports are not released to anyone other than the victim unless directed by a court order. For minor children, the custodial parent or legal guardian can obtain the victim's copy. To get a copy, victims must appear in person with photo ID, Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Bringing the victim's assistance card helps staff find the report faster.
Crash reports cost $25.00. Only the driver or owner of a vehicle involved can request a copy. Call 302-322-9800, Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and ask for the police secretary. Not all collisions are investigated; private property collisions usually skip a report unless there's a serious injury, DUI, structural damage, or reckless driving.
Traffic ticket copies are free in person with a valid ID.
Note: Many New Castle arrests are arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 11, 2 Penns Way #100A, phone (302) 323-4450.
How to Search New Castle Arrest Records
Pick the tool that matches what you have. CourtConnect for court dockets. DELJIS for warrants. VINE for custody status.
To run a New Castle arrest search, bring:
- Full name of the person
- Approximate arrest date
- Court that heard the case (often JoP Court 11)
- Case number if you have one
The Delaware CourtConnect portal returns dockets from Superior Court, Court of Common Pleas, and JoP Court 11. Search is free. Use the DELJIS Wanted Person Review for open warrants. Custody status runs through the DOC inmate locator, which points to VINELink.
Delaware State Police also report New Castle city arrests on the DSP arrest archive. Recent examples include a New Castle stabbing arrest (August 2025), a Route 1 traffic stop that led to felony gun and drug arrests, and a New Castle man arrested on felony drug and weapon charges.
Warrant Checks for New Castle Arrests
Active warrants for a New Castle arrest sit in DELJIS. The DELJIS Wanted Person Review covers every Delaware court, so warrants issued at JoP Court 11 appear alongside warrants from other Delaware courts.
Results show full name, birth month and year, charges, race, sex, issuing court, warrant number, and case number. Don't act on a result yourself. Contact the issuing court or turn yourself in. Only sworn officers can arrest on a warrant.
For custody alerts, sign up with VINE through the DOC locator. Notifications go out by phone, text, email, or TTY when an inmate's status changes.
Citizen Complaints and Internal Affairs
NCPD has an internal affairs process for citizen complaints about officers.

The NCPD citizen complaints page walks through the process. For immediate issues, call the on-duty patrol supervisor at 302-573-2800 or email Police@newcastlecity.delaware.gov. If no response in 24 hours, call 322-9800 and ask for the on-call staff officer.
All parties in a formal complaint are interviewed on the record. If misconduct is sustained, the officer is disciplined under established guidelines or may elect a Professional Standards Board hearing selected by the Criminal Justice Council. Criminal complaints get referred to the Department of Justice, Division of Civil Rights Public Trust. Internal Affairs Officer Keith Dempsey handles these files.
